TravelingBnB will pick you up and load your gear, clothing, snacks, sodas and alcoholic beverages, and any of your specific food stuffs into the traveling vacation home. We will spend the first night south of Washington DC in a rest area (without hook ups – utilities) depending on the 12 volt supply of the RV and propane. The second night is at “South of the Boarder” a real tourist trap that long predates Disney. There are restaurants, and shops to take your money for things you didn’t know you wanted. The next day we arrive south of Atlanta and now escape the I-95 corridor. Toomsuba, MS has a lovely KOA for our accommodations. There is a very convenient “French Quarter RV Resort” in New Orleans. We’ll spend two nights there to allow you to get your fix of local cuisine and music, tours of plantations, trolley rides to the beautiful neighborhoods.
We leave the ridiculous and head for the sublime of the Natchez Trace. “The Natchez Trace Parkway is a 444-mile recreational road and scenic drive through three states. It roughly follows the "Old Natchez Trace" a historic travel corridor used by American Indians, "Kaintucks," European settlers, slave traders, soldiers, and future presidents. Today, people can enjoy not only a scenic drive but also hiking, biking, horseback riding, and camping along the parkway.”
Because of the unbelievable number of things to see, do, and read, our daily miles covered are quite small. We will spend 6 days/nights along the Trace This starts with a night at River View RV Park in Vidalia LA. And ends at Tennessee Country Campground in Niota, TN.
We have two nights traveling through VA before we arrive at Gettysburg Battlefield Resort. Regardless of the time of day that we arrive at Gettysburg, your first stop should be the Museum and Visitor Center. The Film, Cyclorama, and Museum experience is $10 for youth, and $14 for adults. This informative overview can take up to two or three hours. TravelingBnB has a self-guided audio tour of the National Park which can also take two to three hours depending on your desire to stop and read each plaque. We will spend two nights at Gettysburg allowing you to take a walking tour of the haunted areas in downtown. And /or just relax and unwind after being inundated with all of the horrors of the carnage that happened there.
We are just one night from home, and will stop at “Promised Land State Park”. This 16 night trip for 4 adults with meal plan providing 3 meals/day is $13,295 ($3324 per person). [Evening meals, 2, are NOT included in New Orleans or Gettysburg, PA.] The is an additional $500 reservation fee which becomes a damage fee, and may be returned at the end of the trip.
